At least thirty people have been killed by gunmen in eastern Burkina Faso as rebels burned down villagers’ homes.

The attack which occurred in Kodyel village in the Komandjari province, had some villagers being attacked as they tried to escape from their village.

According to a government official, LABIDI OUOBA, who said Rebel fighters surrounded the village and went house to house setting fire to them and killing people, prayed for peace in the country.

A resident, who fled the attack said about hundred fighters entered the town on motorcycles and pick-up trucks adding that four of his brother’s children were killed.
