AMINU SULE LAMIDO; the son of former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji SULE LAMIDO, has lost an appeal against his conviction for money laundering. Reports say the Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna dismissed the appeal of the 34-year-old against the judgment by the Federal High Court sitting in Kano.
EFCC spokesman, WILSON UWUJAREN said in a statement that the Appellate Court judgment delivered by Justice H.A.O. ABIRU upheld the decision of the lower court and resolved all issues raised against the appellant. AMINU SULE LAMIDO was arrested in Kano on the 11th of December, 2012 and charged with money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The convict was arrested at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on his way to Egypt for failing to declare the sum of forty thousand dollars to the Nigerian Customs Service.
