Seven dead as military Aircraft crashes in Abuja

Seven persons have been killed after a military aircraft crashed a few yards off the runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The spokesman of the Nigerian Air Force, Air vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola who confirmed the incident stated that the Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed while returning to Abuja Airport after reporting engine failure enroute Minna.

 

According to the NAF spokesman, the Chief of Air Staff Air vice Marshal Oladayo Amao has ordered an immediate investigation into the accident.

 

While urging the general public to remain calm and await the outcome of the investigation, the CAS, on behalf of all Nigerian Air Force personnel, commiserated with the families of the deceased.

 

In the meantime, an eye witness has narrated how the aircraft crashed.
