The need for the international community to search for solutions to achieve sustainable development, poverty eradication, the promotion of full employment and decent work, universal social protection, gender equality and access to social well-being and justice for all has been said to be the main focus of this year's World Day of Social Justice.

For workers in Nigeria and Rivers State the regularity of work and income, their rights to fair working conditions, social protection and adequate standard of living, skills utilization, and the right to form or join trade unions are major factors mitigating social justice.

A Lawyer based in Port Harcourt, Gloria Ohia in an interview with our correspondent said workers, union members and litigants must take advantage of the mulit-door courthouse to resolve all their matters.

Ohia, said while the COVID 19 pandemic has adversely affected the working populace caused by downsizing, aggrieved workers can approach the multi door courthouse for mediation, reconciliation and negotiating rather take laws into their hands.

Our correspondent Victor Ezeama reports that the theme of the 2021 World Day of Social Justice is: "A Call for Social Justice in the Digital Economy" and it is aimed at fostering dialogue with member States and relevant UN institutions and other stakeholders on actions needed to overcome the digital divide, provide decent work opportunities, and protect labour and human rights in the modern era of digital technologies.
