The Inspector General of Police has ordered a ban on street trading and hawking on all roads in the Federal Capital Territory.
IGP SOLOMON ARASE has also mandated State Command Commissioners of Police to strengthen security at all Mosques, Churches and other worship centers across the country.

He also directed that adequate security should be provided at venues where Moslems break their Ramadan fast in the evenings, while worshipers are advised to be vigilant, and promptly report to the Police any suspicious persons or substance found in or around their environment.
The directive was contained in a statement released by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, ABAYOMI SHOGUNLE, which was obtained by our correspondent.
In a separate statement; the Force spokesman said the IGP has also directed the commencement of special stop and search on roads and highways nationwide, with emphasis on roads in and out of major cities and towns.
He said citizens are enjoined to bear with the Nigeria Police Force during the security operation, which he described as a temporary measure put in place to address the intelligence received.
The statement noted that the special security measure is in no way a return of roadblocks, warning that any unprofessional conduct should be reported to the appropriate quarters.
SHOGUNLE said the general public is advised to cooperate with Police operatives by providing answers to questions that may be asked as well as allowing their vehicles to be searched.
