The Peoples Democratic Party is taking some credit for the bailout fund approved by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI.
The PDP claims that a significant amount of the bailout came from savings accumulated in the Excess Crude Account handed over to the Buhari-led APC Administration by the past PDP-led administration.

The position of the PDP was contained in a statement released by the National Publicity Secretary, Chief OLISA METUH.
He said the development is in clear contradiction to the earlier impression given by President BUHARI to Nigerians and the international community that they should not expect much from his administration because inherited a virtually empty treasury.
However; the PDP said it believes the funds would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the Nigerian workers in various states of the federation, most of who have been without their wages for months.
The party said it expects President BUHARI’s APC administration as a direct beneficiary of the savings initiated by past PDP administrations to appreciate the strategic importance of always saving for rainy days.
The PDP charged the APC Administration to ensure prudent and transparent management of the nation’s resources under its care.
