Nigerian Senators were last night treated to a dinner at the Presidential Villa in a subtle appeal to work closely with the executive to deliver on the expectations of Nigeria. At the moment, President MUHAMMADU BUHARI’s Supplementary Budget of four hundred and sixty-five billion naira is still waiting before the Senate for approval. But at the dinner last night, the President reminded the Senators that government was at risk of payment default for counterpart funding of projects. He also urged the federal lawmakers to join hands with the executive in fixing Nigeria’s poor roads and the railway network. You will recall that the Senate yesterday approved the invitation of the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, BABATUNDE FASHOLA; to outline his plans on how to fix dilapidated bailey bridges across the country. Also in attendance at the dinner was former Lagos State governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju BOLA AHMED TINUBU.
