Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike says returning the Niger Delta Development Commission to the Presidency would not solve the issues beclouding the commission.

The Governor was speaking on a live television programme in Port Harcourt.

He said the only way the commission would be more effective would be to liaise with all states in the region and determine what projects they need before awarding contracts.

Governor Wike also called on the President to stop appointing people who have political ambition into the commission.

The Governor also assured that the review of the state 2020 budget due to the COVID-19 pandemic would not slow down project delivery in the state.
