Authorities of Asari-Toru Local government council in Rivers State have confirmed the abduction of the Head of Administration of the council, DAYSPRING PRINCEWILL.

The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the council, ODIARI PRINCEWILL said the senior council official was kidnapped on his way to work along Ogbakiri Road, while his driver was shot dead.

The Rivers State House of Assembly has received a bill seeking to amend the law establishing the Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori.

The amendment is meant to give legal force to the recent pronouncement by Governor NYESOM WIKE on the change of name of the institution to Ken Sarowiwa Polytechnic.

The Rivers State House of Assembly has approved the request by Governor NYESOM WIKE to appoint additional six Special Advisers.

In the Governor’s letter conveying the request to the lawmakers, he said the additional advisers would assist in the running of government activities in the state.
