The Odufor community in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State is not happy with the police over the handling of an investigation into an alleged killing of a woman in her farm last month. In an interview with our correspondent, a youth leader in the community, RAPHAEL ECHEFU claimed that there has not been much progress in the investigation of the death of LOVE OKERE.

GESILA KHAN says she is still in charge of affairs as the Resident Electoral Commissioner at the Rivers State Secretariat of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Addressing newsmen in her office at the INEC Secretariat on Aba Road, GESILA KHAN said the three Administrative Secretaries deployed to Rivers State are meant to give support because of the volume of work to be done.

The Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja, has struck out an application by Governor NYESOM WIKE, INEC and the PDP seeking to dismiss the petition  seeking to sack Governor NYESOM WIKE from office. ‎In a ruling, the Justice MUAZU PINDIGA-led tribunal held that the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate in the state, Doctor DAKUKU PETERSIDE, properly convoked a pre-hearing session on their case against WIKE.

The All Progressives Congress has praised the Nigerian Military for ongoing efforts to check the activities of the Boko Haram insurgency in the north-east of the country. The APC said a visible paradigm shift in the military's approach to the battle against the insurgents is yielding positive results.

The former military Head of State, IBRAHIM BABANGIDA has commended  efforts of President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to contain Boko Haram insurgency in the north-east region of Nigeria. BABANGIDA gave the commendation during a media briefing in Minna, Niger State to mark his 74th birthday.
