All is set for the deployment of the eight thousand, seven hundred-strong Multinational Joint Task Force to fight Boko Haram insurgents in north-east Nigeria. A report quoting the Information Desk of the  Nigerian Defence Headquarters says the Chief of Defence Staff, General GABRIEL OLANISHAKIN joined other Chiefs of Defence Staff from the Lake Chad Basin for a meeting in N’Djamena where final details for the deployment were worked out.

The immediate-past National Security Adviser, retired Colonel SAMBO DASUKI, has been charged after months of investigation. 

DASUKI is accused of illegal possession of weapons, following the seizure of firearms during a raid at his private residence by operatives of the Department of State Security Service.

State Chairman of Labour Party, FELIX FAVOUR said the probe is in line with the agenda of the All Progressives Congress Administration at the Federal level to wipe out corruption from Nigeria.

Sierra Leonean health authorities have released the country's last known Ebola Virus patient from the hospital. Reports say the patient's release marks the beginning of a forty-two-day countdown until the World Health Organisation can declare the West African country Ebola-free.
