Stakeholders of Peoples’ Democratic Party including the immediate-past President GOODLUCK JONATHAN have endorsed a blueprint for the revival and rebuilding of the party in preparation for the 2019 elections. Some stalwarts of the party including Senator AHMED MARKAFI and former Minister of Environment, LAURENTIA MALLAM, discussed the restructuring plan in Abuja in a meeting organised by the steering committee of the ‘Restart PDP Project’.

Some aggrieved former Niger Delta militants yesterday sealed the premises of Enterprise Bank along Olu-Obasanjo road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in protest over alleged cuts in their sixty-five thousand naira monthly allowance. The protesters who were drawn from the twenty-three Local Government Areas of Rivers state, also blocked the Olu-Obasanjo road, making it difficult for motorists to use the road.
Six suspects have been arrested over the murder of four soldiers and a policeman by suspected sea pirates in Bayelsa State last week Friday.
A report quoting the Nigerian military said soldiers also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a raid on criminal camps in neighboring Rivers State.
