South Africa's governing African National Congress looks to suffer its biggest electoral setback since the end of apartheid. Reports say with most votes now counted in local elections, the ANC is trailing its main rival, the Democratic Alliance, in Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Unemployment and corruption scandals surrounding President Jacob Zuma have have been the greatest undoing of the ANC in the run-up to the elections.
