Hearing continued yesterday at the Rivers State House of Assembly Tribunal sitting in Abuja, with nine petitions listed for mention.
The first session featured petitions filed by ANDREW ANDERSON MILLER of the APC against DIRI KELLY ADONYE of the PDP; as well as WALI BELIEF of the APC versus MICHAEL OKECHUKWU CHINDA of the PDP.

Justice SIMEON AMADI of the Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has dismissed a suit filed by former governor, ROTIMI CHIBUIKE AMAECHI, seeking to stop the panel set up by Governor NYESOM WIKE to investigate his administration.
In his ruling, Justice AMADI said the panel led by Justice GEORGE OMERIJI was not meant to investigate the personal activities of the former governor but actions taken by the state government under his leadership that affect the people.

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has ordered the Inspector-General of Police, SOLOMON ARASE, to cut down the number of policemen attached to dignitaries across Nigeria. He also directed the police boss to redeploy all policemen withdrawn from that role to regular police duties.

Immediate-past Governor of Rivers State, ROTIMI AMAECHI has debunked claims that he emptied the state government’s treasury before the inauguration of the present administration of NYESOM WIKE. In a statement released by his Media Office, AMAECHI noted that his administration left at least seven-point-five billion naira in cash for the present administration.
