The Inspector General of Police has ordered a ban on street trading and hawking on all roads in the Federal Capital Territory.
IGP SOLOMON ARASE has also mandated State Command Commissioners of Police to strengthen security at all Mosques, Churches and other worship centers across the country.

Kaduna State Government has also adopted new security measures, banning begging and hawking.The state government said all beggars and hawkers are to stay off the streets until further notice, warning that any beggar or hawker found on the streets will be arrested.

The government also said the ban on motorcycle taxis remains in force, adding that the law will be strictly enforced. In a statement by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, SAMUEL ARUWAN, the Kaduna State Government commended the people of the state for promptly embracing the crucial necessity of watchful vigilance and attention to security.

The Presidency has dismissed media reports claiming that funds for the bailout approved by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI for state governments to pay salaries of workers are drawn from the Excess Crude Account.

The Peoples Democratic Party is taking some credit for the bailout fund approved by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI.
The PDP claims that a significant amount of the bailout came from savings accumulated in the Excess Crude Account handed over to the Buhari-led APC Administration by the past PDP-led administration.
