The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) announced the successful return of 203 vulnerable Nigerians who were stranded in Libya. The group arrived on Monday at the Cargo Terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where they were received by officials from the agency and various stakeholders.
The returnees traveled aboard a chartered Al Buraq Boeing aircraft, registered as 5A-BAC. Among the group were 50 adult males, 96 adult females, 29 children, and 28 infants, highlighting the diverse demographics of those affected by the precarious situation in Libya.
NEMA has expressed its commitment to providing the necessary support and assistance to the returnees as they reintegrate into society. The agency continues to work on measures to ensure the safety and welfare of Nigerians abroad, particularly those in vulnerable positions.
