The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has expressed deep concern over the increasing prevalence of drug abuse in Rivers State.
The Deputy State Commander, Operations and Training of NDLEA in Rivers, Emmanuel Ogbumgbada, disclosed this to Rhythm News, noting that a significant number of young people are now roaming the streets of Port Harcourt as a result of drug addiction.
Ogbumgbada emphasized that while the agency is eager to carry out rehabilitation programs for drug addicts, it is hindered by insufficient funding. He called on concerned individuals and organizations to provide support to enable NDLEA to effectively address the growing drug problem in the state.
The agency’s call highlights the urgent need for collaborative efforts to combat drug abuse and support rehabilitation initiatives in Rivers State.
