NDDC denies acquiring Seventy cars at exorbitant cost.

The denial is in reaction to a statement credited to the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Professor ITSE SAGAY.

In a statement released by the Head of Corporate Affairs of the NDDC, CHIJIOKE AMU-NNADI, the management of the commission noted that no such purchases have been made since the assumption of office of the current Governing Board on 4th November last year.

AMU-NNADI further noted that the NDDC Chairman, Senator VICTOR NDOMA-EGBA, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, NSIMA EKERE, and the two Executive Directors are still using their private vehicles three months after assumption of duties.

He also disclosed that the NDDC is only now in the process of acquiring work vehicles, and is adhering strictly to due process in doing so.

The NDDC spokesman listed the vehicles that are up for acquisition to include five Toyota Prado jeeps, ten Toyota Hilux trucks, four Toyota Landcruiser jeeps, one Toyota Coaster bus and two Toyota Hiace buses.

He said the Commission has received the Due Process Compliance Certificate from the Bureau of Public Procurement, and is preparing the mandatory memo for the approval of the Federal Executive Council.
