Members of Senate Respond to Kogi Civil Service Unpaid Salaries Plight with Donation of Foodstuff

Some members of the Senate also responded with donation of foodstuff to support the Kogi civil servants, with the Deputy Senate President, IKE EKWEREMADU offering one hundred bags of rice.
This followed an appeal by Senator DINO MELAYE of the APC from Kogi West who narrated how Kogi State civil servants have been reduced to Internally Displaced Persons and unable to meet their daily needs.
Senator MELAYE urged the Senate to impress on President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to come to the rescue of Kogi State civil servants.
MELAYE said some of the workers in his home state have not been paid their salaries for between sixteen and twenty-one months.
After listening to Senator MELAYE, the Senate promised to look into the matter, just as he confirmed the pledge of one hundred and sixty bags of rice from his colleagues.
