The manager of the singer, Uzoma Day Omenka confirmed the news on the singer’s Instagram page on Tuesday morning.
According to him, the rainmaker died at 11:45PM, June 1 2020, Nigerian time, after battling with cancer.
Omenka confirmed that the Singer died in New York where he was previously receiving treatment instead of London as carried in many reports.
He said “we moved him from London to New York last September on the advice of the doctors that he should stay close to the family.”
Born March 7, 1963, Fashek was best known for the 1988 album ‘Prisoner of Conscience’ which included the multiple award-winning single, ‘send down the rain’.
Fashek has worked with various artists worldwide including Tracy Chapman, Snoop Dogg, Beyonce, Jimmy Cliff and Micheal Jackson.
