According to the video that is yet to be verified by security agencies, an APC chieftain and a member of the National Assembly from the Ogoni axis, BARRI MPIGI, is alleged to have issued instructions to youths to compromise security in the area.

The State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, SAMUEL NWONOSIKE, called on security agencies to investigate the video and prosecute the lawmaker representing Oyigbo-Eleme-Tai Federal Constituency.

NWONOSIKE said the video explains why armed cultists and criminals in Ogoni were not willing to embrace the amnesty programme of the Rivers State Government.

But on the other hand, the State Publicity Secretary of APC, CHRIS FINEBONE described the circulation of the video recording as an attempt to blackmail the APC chieftain, BARRI MPIGI.

FINEBONE noted in a statement obtained by our correspondent that it was the PDP-controlled government in Rivers State that contrived and threw up video clip, which he described as worthless, in a bid to blackmail one of APC’s shinning stars.

The APC spokesman recalled how the party had drawn public attention to the neglect of the Ogoni axis in the implementation of the amnesty programme initiated by Governor NYESOM WIKE in what appeared a deliberate act to destroy Rivers South-East.

He said it was obvious that the guilt feeling by the Governor and the PDP for what is happening in Ogoniland gave rise to the attempt to shift the blame using the video clip.

The Rivers APC spokesman said PDP and its leaders in the South East Senatorial District must take responsibility for the mindless carnage in Ogoni communities.

Our correspondent reports that the APC lawmaker representing Oyigbo-Eleme-Tai Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, BARRI MPIGI, intends to personally address the allegations against him based on the leaked video clip on his return from Abuja.
