This was one of the recommendations contained in the policy brief created by the faculty and aimed at tackling the problem of militancy in the Niger Delta region.
The faculty was said to have been mandated by the Nigeria stability and reconciliation program to conduct a feasibility study on the post amnesty programme in the Niger Delta
Addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt, Professor ONUCHUKWU explained that activities of militancy has impacted negatively on the nation’s economy and called on all militants groups in the Niger Delta to surrender their arms
Professor ONUCHUKWU further expressed the hope that the project will restore peace and boost oil exploration in the Niger Delta as well as the creation of employments for youths.
Correspondent LEVI ISU reports that the feasibility study will be launched next week.
