Justice IYAYI LAMINKARA has assumed office as the Acting Chief Judge of Rivers State.
This followed her searing-in by Governor NYESOM WIKE during a ceremony earlier today at the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House in Port Harcourt.During the ceremony, Governor WIKE charged the Acting Chief Judge to ensure that justice is dispensed without fear or favour.
Governor WIKE also stressed the need for the Acting Chief Judge to maintain an open communication channel and make herself accessible to avoid grudges in the system.In her inaugural speech; Justice IYAYI LAMINKARA promised to work with other arms of government to ensure that everyone gets justice.
Correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that the Speaker and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly joined members of the State Executive Council as well as judges of the High Court and Customary Court of Appeal at the swearing in ceremony of the Acting Chief Judge.
