The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta Development Commission, Senator ITA ENANG gave the knocks after an unscheduled inspection of the road at the weekend.
He said Julius Berger has failed the Federal Government by not carrying palliative repairs on the deplorable road.
The Presidential aide disclosed that the federal government two weeks ago directed the construction company to undertake palliative work on some failed portions to enable motorists enjoy free flow of traffic during the yuletide season.
According to him, Julius Berger had informed him that the palliative works on the failed portions were completed.
He then expressed shock that the contractor allegedly did not do a good job in view of the volume of traffic that was passing through the highway.
ENANG said he will inform the Federal Ministry of Works to enable the Controller of Work come with the contractor, to at least agree with them that the present condition of the road is not good.
He however reiterated the federal government’s commitment to providing good infrastructure to the benefit of its citizens.
