This followed the interception of three female suicide bombers who attempted to enter into Mamanti village in the local government area in the early hours of today.
Reports say two of the would-be bombers were neutralized by security operatives, while the third bomber took her own life by detonating the explosive device strapped to her body.
Borno State Commissioner of Police, DAMIAN CHUKWU, confirmed the incident in a statement circulated to the media.
There are also unconfirmed reports of successful multiple suicide attacks at Shuwari village and elsewhere along Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu road.
Independent sources told reporters that four villagers and three suicide bombers were killed in the simultaneous attacks earlier today.
