In a heartfelt tribute shared on her Instagram handle, Jennifer Awele, the widow of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, commemorated the one-year anniversary of her husband’s untimely passing. The emotional post, made on Thursday, reflected on the profound challenges faced by Awele and her family in the year since the tragedy.
Describing the past twelve months as “extremely difficult,” Awele expressed that not a single day has passed without thoughts of Junior Pope. “It’s been one year of standing in the face of our unimaginable loss, and not a day has gone by without a thought of you,” she wrote. “Your love still surrounds us, your laughter echoes in our hearts, and your presence is felt in the quiet moments when we miss you most.”
Struggling to remain strong amidst the turmoil, Awele disclosed how hard it has been for her and their children, saying the world often feels like it is “falling apart.” She added, “The grief remains heavy, and the absence left a void that words can never fill, but through it all, we look up for strength from heaven as a guiding light.”
Awele poignantly shared the heartbreaking inquiries posed by her children, Jason and Jaden, regarding their father’s unfulfilled promises, including taking them to a football academy and attending their first official match.
