Iraqi Forces Recapture Hawija from ISIS

Hawija had been one of ISIS’ enclaves in Iraq since 2014, with tens of thousands of civilians living there.
It is expected that government forces would quickly move into the surrounding area falls, which would leave ISIS controlling only a stretch of land along the border with Syria.
However; Iraqi security forces said the militants were preventing some of the seventy-eight thousand civilians from leaving the area and might have laid explosives around the town.
