To this end, INEC has fixed the tenth day of December for the completion of the remaining rerun state and national assembly elections in Rivers State.
This was made known in a statement released by the Secretary of the Electoral Commission, AUSUSTA OGAKWE which was obtained by our correspondent in Abuja.
According to the statement, the INEC scribe said the commission has also approved the 3rd of December for the conduct of election to fill the vacant seat for Ifako-Ijaye Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
On that same day, INEC also plans to conclude rescheduled councillorship polls in some area councils in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The commission noted that after months of intensive planning and wide consultations, it reached a decision yesterday to conclude the pending rerun legislative polls.
You will recall that the Nigerian Senate has on Wednesday threatened to suspend plenary indefinitely in protest if INEC failed to conduct all pending rerun legislative elections on or before 10th December.
