The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government, Charles Wobodo, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property across the council.
Wobodo made the declaration during a meeting with the Igwuruta Council of Chiefs and Elders, commending the traditional leaders for presenting resolutions aimed at promoting peace and development in the community.
He assured the chiefs and elders that his administration would carefully consider their demands and work closely with the community to address the issues raised.
Earlier, a member of the council, Lucky Wejeh, read a communiqué on behalf of the chiefs, Owhor holders, and other opinion leaders, which included a call for the immediate disbandment of commercial motorcycle operators, popularly known as Okada riders, within Igwuruta.
Despite the concerns raised, the Igwuruta leaders pledged continued support for Wobodo’s administration, particularly in initiatives aimed at sustaining peace and driving development across Ikwerre Local Government.
