ICPC to Probe Dangote’s Corruption Allegation Against NMDPRA Chief

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed it will investigate allegations of corruption and financial impropriety made by billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote against the Managing Director of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Ahmed Farouk.

Dangote, who is the Chairman of the Dangote Group, submitted a formal petition to the anti-graft agency, accusing the NMDPRA boss of acts bordering on corruption and financial misconduct.

Hours after the petition was filed, the ICPC acknowledged receipt and assured the public that the allegations would be thoroughly examined in line with its mandate. The commission said it would take appropriate action based on the outcome of its investigation.

As of the time of filing this report, the NMDPRA and its Managing Director have not publicly responded to the allegations.
