Human Rights Group Condemns Alleged Land Grabbing in Rumuagholu

The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights has condemned alleged land grabbing, unlawful detention, intimidation, harassment, and torture reportedly inflicted on the Nworgu family by a real estate operator, Ory Martins Akinselovin, in Rumuagholu Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, the National Legal Adviser of the group, Henry Ekine, alleged that the accused is being aided by certain police officers. He further claimed that the suspect brought police officers from Abuja to arrest a 75-year-old man, Promise Nworgu, alongside his nephew and son.

Ekine called on relevant authorities, including the Inspector General of Police and the Rivers State Governor, to intervene in the matter.
