The case filed a nongovernmental organization known as
International Society for Social Justice and Human Right is
being heard by a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.
The Rivers State Attorney General and Commissioner for
Justice, EMMA AGUMA appeared for the state government
and notified the court about his observation that second, third,
fourth, fifth and sixth respondents have not been properly
served.
In his response; the presiding judge, Justice PER WATINA
advised the counsel to the applicants, PAUL NWANKWOALA
to properly serve all parties involved before adjourning the
matter to 13th of February for hearing.
Justice WATINA also cautioned the relevant parties against
going to the media between now and the next adjourned date.
The presiding judge warned that he would hands off the case if
any party discussed the case on either social or conventional
media before the next adjournment date.
The respondents in the case are the Rivers State Government,
the State House of Assembly, the State Attorney General, the
Inspector General of Police and Independent National Electoral
Commission.
