Group Protest against federal govt in Abuja.

The rally took off from the Unity Fountain under strict watch by security personnel, as a former Chairman of the Human Rights Commission, Professor CHIDI ODIKALU and AISHA YUSUFU of the Bring-Back-Our-Girls fame, took the lead.

Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the protesters marched to the gate of the Presidential Villa, chanting anti-government slogans in lamentation of the hardship in the land.

However; the protesters were not allowed to get beyond the gate, where Professor ODINKALU declared that the current leadership in the country has failed.

ODINKALU said Nigerian political leaders are not fulfilling their promises, stressing that President MUHAMMADU BUHARI was elected to bring about change and fight corruption, but has allowed the menace to move from bad to worse.

The Abuja protesters demanded that government should fix the energy problem and revive the economy.
