In the latest development; the All Progressives Congress has said Governor NYESOM WIKE must stop interfering with the work of the Nigeria Police Force.
State Chairman of APC, Chief DAVIES IBIAMU-IKANYA said Governor WIKE was acting and speaking in a manner to misdirect, interfere and influence the police investigations of what played out in Port Harcourt last weekend.
Chief IKANYA said the APC believes that there was more to the matter than meets the eyes, citing unverified revelations that support the party’s view that the parade of some persons on suspicion on printing fake election materials was a plot by the PDP and the Rivers State Government to taint the APC and its leaders.
The APC Chairman called on the Governor of Rivers State, as an interested party, to desist from his campaign to intimidate the Police Force, twist the facts and mislead the public.
In a statement obtained by our correspondent, the APC chieftain said the party vehemently rejects attempts by Governor WIKE to dictate how the Nigeria Police goes about its duties.
DAVIES IKANYA noted that what the Governor said yesterday about the ongoing investigation by the Police amounts to undue interference and unbridled attempts to force the hands of the Police to move in a predetermined direction.
