This is according to a statement issued by the special assistant to the Governor on Media, Kelvin Ebiri.
The Governor directed the sacked commissioner to submit all government documents and property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment.
No reason was given for the sack of the commissioner which was announced shortly after he had briefed newsmen in Port Harcourt about the effort of the state government in combating the issue of soot in the state.
Also speaking at the briefing, the commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Doctor Peter Medee advised operators of illegal refineries to form a corporative in order to benefit from the federal and state government’s programme on modular refinery.
