Governor WIKE made the call during a special dinner of the Knights of Saint John International held in Port Harcourt.
Governor WIKE said at the present point of Nigeria’s history, it was necessary for Nigerians to unite and move the country out of economic stagnation.
WIKE also noted that that mass insecurity that has taken over almost all the states across the country.
He said the problem can be addressed by working together instead of resorting to propaganda, particularly as it affects Rivers State.
The Rivers State Governor maintained that reports about the security situation in the state are merely orchestrated by entrenched political interests, which are out to create the wrong impression about the state.
Governor WIKE said kidnapping and other violent crimes have become the order of the day in Nigeria, with varying degrees reported in Lagos, Kogi, Imo, Kaduna, Ogun and Borno.
According to Governor WIKE; when two persons are kidnapped in Rivers State, it makes the front page, but if five persons are kidnapped in Lagos, the press hides it from the public.
