Ghana Unveils Provisional Squad for 2026 WAFCON

Ghana’s head coach, Kim Lars Björkegren, has named a provisional squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) as the Black Queens intensify preparations for the tournament in Morocco.

The squad features a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents, with captain Portia Boakye leading the team. Other notable inclusions are Grace Asantewaa, Alice Kusi, Evelyn Badu, Jennifer Cudjoe, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Stella Nyamekye and Princella Adubea.

The provisional list also includes several home-based players, among them goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan Fiindib of FC Samartex Ladies, Osman Huzeima of Jonina Ladies and Ajegipina Zakaria of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, highlighting the continued integration of domestic league talents into the national team.

Ghana will compete in Group D at the tournament, where they are scheduled to face Cape Verde, Cameroon and Mali as they aim to make a strong impression at the continental championship.
