Former senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator MAGNUS ABE has asked the Rivers State Government to stop playing politics with the future of Rivers children. Senator ABE wants the PDP-led state government under the leadership of Governor NYESOM WIKE to pay up the scholarship of Rivers students studying overseers. In a statement signed by his spokesperson, PARRY SAROH BENSON, Senator ABE warned that under no circumstance should politics becloud the sense of judgment of the Rivers State Government on issues that affect the future of Rivers children.
Senator ABE recalled that the past administration of former governor ROTIMI AMAECHI also inherited students on scholarship from his predecessor, Doctor PETER ODILI and he did not frustrate such students on the altar of politics. Senator ABE warned that some Rivers children on scholarship abroad, include final year students are facing the risk of being thrown out from various foreign universities because their school fees have not been paid
