Orji Ngofar, a former Nigerian Ambassador to the Netherlands, has called on the youth of Rivers State to move beyond partisan politics and instead channel their energy and potential into areas that can foster development and progress. Ngofar made this appeal during the inauguration of the newly formed Coalition of Rivers State Youth Bodies, which brings together 15 youth organizations across the state.
In his address, Ambassador Ngofar advised both the leadership and members of the coalition to prioritize the collective interests of the group over personal ambitions, emphasizing unity and shared purpose as key to driving positive change.
The Chairman of the Coalition, Oscar Imeabi, reaffirmed the group’s dedication to advocating for the development and welfare of Rivers State. He also appealed to the state government to give more attention to the needs and aspirations of the youth, stressing that their active involvement is crucial for the state’s growth.
Furthermore, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, represented by Iyke Okoro, highlighted the importance of equipping young people with the necessary training and skills. He underscored that preparing youths for leadership roles and societal responsibilities is vital for fostering responsible citizenship and sustainable development.
