This was made known by the Minister of States for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor at a one day stakeholder’s engagement programme on the clean-up of Ogoniland held at Bori in Khana Local Government Area of the state.
Ikeazor assured the people of Ogoniland that the federal government through the Hydro Carbon Pollution and Remediation Project will carry out a public health inventory to ascertain the status of the health of the people.
The Minister added that she has instructed the payment of all outstanding debts owed to HYPREP contractors.
On his part, the Senator representing Rivers south East at the National Assembly, Barinada Mpigi made a case for the creation of legal frame work on activities of HYPREP to ensure sustainability.
