FG, NDDC Finalise Plans for $500m Agribusiness Investment Fund

The Federal Government and the Niger Delta Development Commission have finalised plans to raise a 500 million dollar agribusiness investment fund to boost large-scale commercial agriculture across the nine states of the Niger Delta.

The proposed fund is expected to support agricultural development, improve food production and create jobs by financing major agribusiness projects across the region. Officials say the initiative is part of broader efforts to diversify the economy of the Niger Delta and reduce dependence on oil revenue.

The government and the NDDC believe the investment drive will help unlock the region’s agricultural potential, attract private sector participation and strengthen food security while expanding economic opportunities for farmers and agribusiness operators.
