FG Bans Admission, Transfer into SS3 Nationwide from 2026/2027 Session

The Federal Ministry of Education has announced a ban on the admission and transfer of students into Senior Secondary School Three (SS3) in all public and private secondary schools across the country.

The ministry said the policy will take effect from the 2026/2027 academic session. Under the new directive, admissions and transfers will be permitted only into Senior Secondary School One (SS1) and Senior Secondary School Two (SS2).

According to the ministry, the measure is aimed at ensuring academic stability, proper curriculum implementation and improved learning outcomes at the senior secondary level nationwide.
