Fear sacks Rumuekini Youths from home over fear of arrest,

The affected individual have also raised alarm over what they described as unwarranted clampdown on them by armed personnel of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force.

This development is in aftermath of yesterday raid on the community when ten persons were arrested, including a pregnant woman, following a land dispute between Rumuegum village in Rumuekini and the neighbouring Rumuosi community.

Our correspondent who visited the area reports that security operatives have continued to mount surveillance in a bid to forestall any breakdown of order.

The leader of the Rumuegum youths, WOBISIKE WOKA said it was wrong for security operatives to intervene in the land dispute, which he said could have been settled amicably between the contending sides.

WOKA, who spoke with our correspondent from hiding, called on the Rivers State government and Commissioner of Police to intervene.

Also speaking, Rumuekini Youth Secretary, PRECIOUS OGBONDAH said it was against Ikwerre tradition for strangers to interfere in a land matter.
