FCT Water Supply Disrupted Due to Rehabilitation of Treatment Plants

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced that the recent disruption of water supply in Abuja and some satellite towns is a temporary consequence of ongoing major rehabilitation works at two key water treatment plants.

In a statement issued on Sunday through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike explained that the rehabilitation is part of efforts to improve water infrastructure within the territory. He clarified that these two treatment plants are among four facilities responsible for producing and supplying water to residents of the FCT.

Wike assured residents that the water supply from the two operational treatment plants would be rationed for a period of two weeks to facilitate the rehabilitation process. He expressed his commitment to restoring normal water supply as soon as possible and urged residents to bear with the temporary inconvenience.

The minister emphasized that the rehabilitation aims to enhance the capacity and efficiency of the water treatment facilities, ultimately ensuring a more reliable water supply for Abuja and its satellite communities.
