Both Senators SARAKI and EKWEREMADU were arraigned by the Federal Government alongside two administrative staff of the National Assembly on charges of altering the Senate Standing Rules.
However; the Prosecution filed a notice of intention to withdraw the charges against the four accused persons, including former Clark of the National Assembly, SALISU MAIKASUWA and his Deputy, BEN EFUTURI.
Following the development; the presiding judge, Justice YUSUF HALILU dismissed the charges and cleared the Senate Presiding officers and the two administrative officials of any wrongdoing.
In a joint reaction to the decision of the court, Senators SARAKI and EKWEREMADU hailed the outcome as a welcome development.
