This is because the National Population Commission which had the sole responsibility to conduct census is not certain about having funds approved by the Federal Government for the head count.
The Commissioner representing Rivers State in the National Population Commission, WOKOMA CHARLES-WOKOMA gave this indication during an event in Port Harcourt.
CHARLES-WOKOMA during a recent meeting between the leadership of the NPC and President MUHAMMADU BUHARI, the issue of prevailing economic downturn was raised.
He said the continuous silence of the President over the national census; suggest that the exercise might be postponed due to lack of funding.
However; CHARLES-WOKOMA expressed that with patience from Nigerians and an improvement in the economy, the things would get better.
