Eliozu Killing:Police arrest accomplice suspect.

The Commissioner of Police, ZAKI AHMED, made the revelation in reaction to the outrage against the police over the escape from State CID custody of the prime suspect, IFEANYICHUKWU MAXWELL DIKE.

Speaking in a telephone interview during a live television programme monitored from Port Harcourt, CP AHMED said detectives picked up the second suspect in the early hours of today.

The Commissioner of Police said the arrest of the yet-to-be named accomplice was made possible through the confessional statement obtained from DIKE, whose whereabouts remain unknown.

CP ZAKI AHMED also informed the public that the police officer in charge of the case who has been in detention since the escape of IFEANYI DIKE has been dismissed and would be charged to court for negligence.

You will recall that aggrieved residents of Eliozu yesterday took to the street in a violent protest to denounce men of the Rivers State Police Command over the escape of the murder suspect.

The protesters accused the police of complicity in the escape of the suspect who was caught with the remains of an eight-year-old girl, whom he allegedly murdered and sliced off vital organs.

Meanwhile; the Rivers State Police Command has offered one million naira reward for anyone with useful information on the whereabouts of IFEANYICHUKWU MAXWELL DIKE.
