Eid-El-Kabir: Pray for Positive Transformation of Nigeria, Fubara Urges Muslims

He further urged all Nigerians to imbibe the character of sacrifice for the growth and development of the country, noting that the nation is passing through a phase of recovery that will result in the well-being and prosperity of all.

In a statement, Governor Fubara expressed hope that the prayers and sacrifices that come from this year’s Eid-ei-Kabir will culminate in enhancing peace, unity and the advancement of the nation.

He further urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for leaders and the positive transformation of the country, Nigeria.

The annual Eid-el-Kabir festival, also referred to as Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice, marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca by countless devotees from around the world.

It is usually celebrated with prayers offered on the Eid ground, followed by the slaughter of goats, sheep,or cattle in commemoration of the Prophet Ibraham’s readiness to sacrifice his son to show obedience to Allah.
