The Senator representing Kogi Central cited some unnamed sources confirming the development; which he said was intended to indict Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI and the Deputy Senate President, IKE EKWEREMADU.
In a statement obtained by our correspondent in Abuja; Senator MELAYE alleged that those behind the plot intend to forge the police report different from that which was signed by A.I.G JAMES CAULCRICK.
Without mentioning the names of those behind the alleged plot, Senator MELAYE said it was necessary for members of the public to be aware of what he described as unlawful plan.
The APC Senator said they have been reliably informed by their own sources that the prosecution embarked on the move having realized that there was a big hole in their case against Senators SARAKI and EKWEREMADU, who he said were not mentioned in the original police report.
He said it was because of the plan that the prosecution refused to include the police report in the process they filed in court.
The Senator maintained that the Attorney General of the Federation, ABUBAKAR MALAMI has no case against the presiding officers of the Senate.
He claimed that case of conspiracy and forgery was meant to distract the two men, embarrass them, force a change of leadership in the Senate and eventually intimidate the Senate in particular, and the National Assembly in general.
