Manager Corporate Communications, PHEDC, JOHN ONYI told our correspondent IFUNANYA OBEME-NDUKWE, that PHEDC loses over three point five billion naira annually on energy theft.

ONYI said that it is the prayer of the PHEDC that customers pay their bills and desist from power theft in 2020 as that is the only means to sustain the power sector.

He said the PHEDC has put in place, an anti-corruption hot line for complains and called on customers to collaborate with the company and not succumb to or be intimidated by some corrupt officials.

JOHN ONYII however said there has been an improvement in the power sector in the state following a significant improvement in energy received from the national grid, adding that PHEDC is entitled to six point five percent of what is generated from the national grid.
